The 25-year-old Georgian international has been doing exactly that throughout this season’s Champions League campaign, and Paris Saint-Germain are counting on him to deliver once more when they host Bayern Munich in the first leg of their semi-final showdown.

Despite his extraordinary individual quality, Kvaratskhelia faces the bittersweet reality that he will not be at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Even with the expanded 48-team format, Georgia failed to qualify — meaning the Champions League represents the grandest stage available to him this year. That reality only sharpens his focus.
Luis Enrique has played down any suggestion that World Cup qualification concerns are distracting his squad, pointing instead to the unique motivational pull of European football’s premier club competition.
